Fundraising Strategy

It is very encouraging to witness that despite financial downturn affecting us all, there are individuals in India and abroad who are willing to sacrifice a little to help others in these difficult times in the spirit of true vluntarism. The Society has mobilized resources from the Indian public since 1996 in a unique attempt to bring about positive economic, social and environment change with development. Over the last nine years, our partner base has expanded to over 7,000 individuals and over 20 public and private national and international trusts, foundations and aid agencies have supported us in realizing our vision towards a just society in a just environment. And addressing poverty and injustices in India.

Aim: Promote local and national philanthropy for social and economic and environment just causes through our individual giving strategy:

SVARAJ’s Fundraising Objectives:
  • Broad base and Increase the funds for long-term programmes and institutional capacity building of community based organisations.
  • Increase unrestricted funding to ensure support for innovative environment protection projects.
  • Develop new and untapped sources of funding from private corporations, other bilateral donors, NRI institutions and individual private donors, particularly from residents India and NRIs.
  • Institutionalise fundraising as a key function and expertise in SVARAJ.
