Appeals
We are fortunate to have a broad base support for our work with communities to address poverty, food , water and livelihood insecurity that continues to plague millions of people in India despite India’s economic growth.
We are grateful to all our donors past and present including the Swedish International Development Agency, Action Aid, VMMT, WIPRO, IBM and HP, IFF, General Mills, over 7000 individual supporters from India as well as abroad, who continue to extend their support to us in our mission towards an equitable and just society in a just environment free from hunger, exploitation and poverty.
In India:- 57 million children undernourished and 80 per cent anaemic - , accessibility, availability and affordability of the right nutritional food is vital for these children;
- 80 per cent of India’s population lack access to safe drinking water and One million children die every year from water borne disease - access to clean drinking water is important for all
- Water scarcity is now the single biggest threat to livelihood with depleting groundwater, drying rivers and wells, pollution and encroachments of water bodies - conservation of water and protection of water bodies is our responsibility
- 25 Lakh children suffer from cerebral palsy and with lakhs more suffer from some form of physical disability – a daily physiotherapy care is essential
It is with your generous support Svaraj can reach out and help strengthen food, water and livelihood security, ensure the protection of the environment and provide vital physiotherapy care for people with disability.
